Roger Martin, MBA
Roger
joined Rotman as Dean in September 1998 from Monitor Company, one
of the world’s
most influential consulting firms. There he was co-head of
the firm, and the founder of the company’s Canadian practice. Mr.
Martin has established an aggressive vision for Rotman, with
emphasis on global competitiveness and integrative thinking, and
has been quoted in more media vehicles than all other Canadian
business school deans combined.
During the
fifteen year period at the Monitor Company and in addition to his
client work on behalf of some of the world's top corporations,
Roger served as Monitor co-head for two years and was the founding
chairman of Monitor University, the firm's educational arm.
In addition to
publishing in the Harvard
Business Review,
Time, and other periodicals, Martin has worked with
Harvard Business School colleagues such as Michael Porter, Chris
Argyris, and Michael Jensen. He has also been profiled in
periodicals such as the
Financial Times, the
Globe and Mail, and
Fast Company. He lives
in Toronto, Ontario.
Roger’s passion
and commitment to the success of MBA program goes beyond his role
as the head of Rotman business school, as he takes active role in
the curriculum and teaches strategic management.
