Farley Flex

From an
unconventionally young age, Farley Flex exhibited an uncanny
ability to spot and nurture creative talent. He was chosen from a
field of literally hundreds of candidates to judge contestants on
Canadian Idol, the
most watched television program in Canadian history, and his
affable manner and charisma have quickly made him the crowd
favourite.
Flex is now recognized as one of the most influential and
successful figures in the Canadian music scene, someone who has
spent his entire career discovering, promoting and developing new
Canadian talent. This ability, and his undeniable presence and
charm, have made him one of the best young speakers this country
has seen in a long, long while. His talks focus on what he knows
best -- talent -- and how by recognizing and nurturing our own
true talents, as well as the talents of those around us, we can
find fulfillment and happiness. It is a message that is as
appropriate for front-line staff as for managers, and one that
inspires his listeners to greater levels of achievement in their
personal and professional lives. Using anecdotes from his
managerial career and from the
Canadian Idol stage,
he gets audience members laughing, applauding, and nodding their
heads in agreement with his remarkable insights. A role model on
and off stage, Flex is currently a member of the board of
VideoFACT, which is charged with funding the production of music
videos for independent Canadian Artists. He recently received the
Bob Marley Community Role Model Award for his commitment to
community development - especially as it pertains to youth.
"Farley is
our Mountain of Soul, with a heart of gold," said Canadian Idol
Executive Producer John Brunton. "He approaches everything he does
with enormous integrity...and of course he injects our panel with
'crazy flavour'."
